Le projet pr\u00e9voit la construction des brise-lames d\u00e9tach\u00e9s mais continus sur une distance de 14 km entre le village de Katanga et celui de Gbodjome. Ces brise-lames qui sont des blocs de roches permettront d’att\u00e9nuer l’impact des vagues et de retenir le sable.<\/p>\n

Le projet financ\u00e9 \u00e0 hauteur de 129 millions d’euros (1 million d’euro de l’\u00c9tat togolais et 128 millions d’euros de la Banque islamique de d\u00e9veloppement – BID), soit plus de 84 milliards de francs CFA, permettra \u00e9galement la construction d’infrastructures sociales. Par exemple, une \u00e9cole sera construite. Ce qui facilitera la vie aux apprenants de la zone d’intervention.<\/p>\n

La construction des brise-lames permettra de freiner l’avanc\u00e9e de la mer, mettant ainsi les riverains en s\u00e9curit\u00e9. Les infrastructures socio\u00e9conomiques seront \u00e9galement pr\u00e9serv\u00e9es. Cela favorisera le d\u00e9veloppement des activit\u00e9s et contribuera \u00e0 l’am\u00e9lioration des conditions de vie des habitants de Katanga et Ggbodjome.<\/p>\n

Le Projet de protection de la c\u00f4te togolaise soumise \u00e0 l’\u00e9rosion c\u00f4ti\u00e8re vient s’ajouter \u00e0 un autre projet de protection du littoral qui est en cours d’ex\u00e9cution. Il s’agit du Projet d’investissement de r\u00e9silience des zones c\u00f4ti\u00e8res en Afrique de l’Ouest (Waca-Resip).<\/p>\n

Ce projet lanc\u00e9 en 2019 et financ\u00e9 par la Banque mondiale puis l’Agence fran\u00e7aise de d\u00e9veloppement (AFD) a d\u00e9j\u00e0 construit des infrastructures de protection c\u00f4ti\u00e8re sur la c\u00f4te togolaise.
